Neil Thomason

Engineer and Head Gap co-owner Neil Thomason is responsible for albums by My Disco, Ned Colette Band, Baseball, Kes Band, Grey Daturas, Khancoban and a bunch of other recordings completed since Head Gap opened its doors in April 2006. As a freelance engineer prior to this time, Neil worked with a host of Melbourne independant artists including True Radical Miracle, Sir, Ninety Nine, Kes, Bird Blobs, Even, and Agents of Abhorrence. In an earlier life Neil spent time playing electric guitar and generally pleading for attention in several Melbourne bands including Ricaine, The Breakdowns and Kes.

Engineer and Head Gap co-owner Brent Punshon is responsible for recent recordings by Sons of the Sun, Legends of Motorsport, Don Fernando, The Slits and Violent Soho. As a freelance live and studio engineer for the past 19 years Brent has previously worked with many bands as diverse as The Nation Blue, Smog and Mouth. After discovering a life of university educated classical percussion wasn’t for him, Brent also spent most of the 90s playing drums in Tasmanian rock bands Little Ugly Girls and 50 million clowns. An aspiring studio technician and analogue tape nerd, Brent hopes to one day be presented with his very own dustcoat and allowed full access to the Head Gap tech shop.

When not wearing the dustcoat and being Head Gap's in-house Technician, Marcus Cook can be found engneering sessions for the abstract and or the loud. Recordings at Head Gap include Bone Sheriff, Japanther, Bakelite, Pikelet, Naked On The Vague and Maximum Awesome. Marcus wasted his youth in such groups as The Vivian Girls, George W. Bush and SNAP! CRAKK!. Currently devotes what little spare time he has to jointly running the Sabbatical label and laughing at pretenders to the dustcoat throne.
